Background

Cloudsmith is an end-to-end software supply chain product. Cloudsmith allows enterprises who make software to control, secure, and distribute software assets to teams, pipelines and customers.

The quality and consistency of our brand, user experiences, communication materials, events, swag - everything; it all adds up to tell customers that we can be trusted, and that we’re the best partner for the long term. Design at Cloudsmith is playing an increasingly important role in how we grow.

We’re building two new and distinct design teams inside Cloudsmith; one focused on our web applications and digital products, the other on our brand, experiences, communications and marketing solutions. This role sits within that second brand & communications team, and you would be amongst the first people working in that space at Cloudsmith.

About the Role

As a design lead, working on brand and communications, you will oversee and work on a variety of creative projects to to elevate and communicate our brand:

  • Brand development - You’ll oversee the continued evolution of our brand design language to help us address new needs and contexts
  • Creative direction - You’ll oversee the quality of work delivered by other brand and comms designers working inside Cloudsmith, pushing them to find not just good solutions, but the right solutions to design problems across digital and physical
  • Brand & design execution - You’ll take on more complex design projects directly, executing at a high level
  • Design systems - You'll lay down design systems and assets to keep us pointing in the right direction, and working efficiently
  • Communications assets - You’ll support internal teams who need to create compelling documents, presentations, tools & templates - helping them put their best foot forward
  • Partner management - You’ll work with external agencies and partners to deliver work related to our brand; briefing them, giving feedback, standing over the quality of final work

You should apply if you are an experienced graphic, brand and comms designer living in the UK or Ireland, and meet the minimum requirements set out below.

Minimum Requirements

  • You must live in either the UK or Ireland to be eligible for this role and visa sponsorship is not available at this time
  • 5+ years of relevant design experience working in-house at a technology or digital product company, or relevant agency experience
  • An excellent portfolio of digital design work demonstrating your fundamental skills in brand design, graphic design, comms design
  • Some experience directing creative work sourced from third-parties and agencies; developing briefs, giving feedback, quality control, stakeholder feedback
  • Excellent skills in Figma, Adobe Creative suite, presentation tools (Google slides, keynote etc.)

  • Consistently delivers the right solution to a design problem, with care and attention to detail

  • Can write coherently and communicate persuasively
  • Loves working in a fast paced environment with lots to learn, and many problems to solve

Hybrid Work


Cloudsmith is based in Belfast, and we use out HQ regularly for activities like bi-weekly development review sessions and operations team in-office days. We also hold all-hands offsites in Belfast a few times per year, with guest speakers and team activities. On a day-to-day basis, most Cloudsmithers work remotely, so we really rely on our online collaboration tools!
