About us:

Data Driven Bioscience is revolutionizing the approach to cancer diagnosis by connecting a novel DNA & RNA sequencing assay with intelligent software. We recently deployed our genomic test to hospitals and are growing fast.

Founded by Sandeep Dave who spent over a decade at Duke University research genomic applications in cancer, we started Data Driven Bioscience because the way we diagnose cancer is broken. It takes too long (2-3 weeks or longer) and costs too much ($10K or more). We can do this work 10X faster and 10X cheaper.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to help with the development of a clinical diagnostic using one of the largest genomic datasets in the world. This individual will work with a team of exceptionally competent scientists and engineers. We are a small company and are looking for someone who is adaptable and can succeed in many different roles.

We pay a VERY competitive salary and offer stock ownership of one of the hottest startups anywhere. This position can be remote or local.

About you:

This is a position for someone who wants to apply their skills to directly help cancer patients. You will develop new applications that connect cancer tests with large databases and machine learning to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment. You will continue to grow and learn cutting edge skills around machine learning, high-performance computing and databases.

Your work will have a direct and immediate impact on the diagnosis and care of cancer patients.

Tasks:

Generate and test genomic models that provide diagnostic readouts. Work wtih researchers involved in genomic projects.

In your first 30 days, you will optimize our genomic prognosis model by including over 1.000,000 single cell RNA-seq samples; by day 90, you will have trained a new model to identify biomarkers and partly automate diagnostic workflows for hematologic malignancies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD. degree or MS degree with 5+ years with working experience in biostatistics and/or bioinformatics • Solid computational skills and a deep understanding of statistics and machine learning • Experience in NGS, modeling and analysis of large-scale genomics datasets • Extensive experience with scientific computing, R or Python preferred
