About the Team

Content Designers use data and research to build product experiences that give Salesforce users the right information, at the right time, in the right way. We help customers reach their goals faster by crafting easier-to-use, streamlined products and features. As Salesforce continues to invest in AI-driven and agentic experiences, our Content Design team partners closely with Product, Research, and Engineering to make sure every word and interaction earns trust.

About the Role

As a Summer 2027 Content Design Intern, you'll join a real product team in San Francisco and work hand-in-hand with content designers, UX designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers on live features — not a simulated project. Past interns have shaped onboarding flows, walkthroughs, modals, and payment experiences used by real customers.
You'll use AI tools and build skills to craft in-app experiences and content, while working iteratively and early in the product development process, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.

What You'll Do

  • Apply standard content design methods — audits, journey mapping, competitive research — to real features.
  • Use the latest AI tools and best practices to efficiently craft content and user flows.
  • Write clear, concise, and usable in-product copy for onboarding flows, modals, notifications, and other UI surfaces.
  • Partner with a mentor and cross-functional team (design, research, PM, engineering) to ideate, prototype, and iterate on solutions.
  • Participate in user research and usability testing, and help translate findings into design decisions.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and bring an outside perspective on UX patterns.
  • Learn and apply Salesforce's brand voice and tone standards, and design system guidelines.
  • Work hands-on with Claude, OpenCode, GitHub, Figma and the team's design system components to design, build, and augment working prototypes.
  • Present work in team critiques and incorporate feedback using a structured model (e.g., Situation-Behavior-Impact).
  • Participate in Content Design reviews and crits as a reviewer, sharing your feedback and opinions on others' designs. Be a vocal advocate for our customers.
  • Explore how AI tools (e.g., Slackbot, Figma AI features) are shaping content design workflows.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's from a North American school with a degree in communications, product design, UI/UX design, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, user research, or a related field, and returning to school after the internship
  • An online portfolio of user experience design work that demonstrates storytelling, UX writing ability, and user-focused design thinking.
  • Genuine curiosity about how words and design decisions shape user experience and accessibility.
  • Comfort giving and receiving feedback, and adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Basic familiarity with Figma or similar design tools is a plus, but not required — we'll help you build this skill.
  • Strong collaborator who enjoys talking to PMs, engineers, designers, researchers, and technical writers across the org.
  • Ability to effectively guide AI tools to achieve desired outcomes
  • Experience using large language model (LLM) coding assistants and agentic tools is a plus
  • Experience using Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini or other agent-based frameworks is a plus

Why Join Us

Past interns have called out the chance to work on live product surfaces, sit in on critiques and town halls, and build real relationships across design, research, and engineering — with the freedom to follow their curiosity within a structured program.
